What part of your first custom jewelry order surprised you the most?
One thing I often notice when small jewelry brands ask for quotes from China: The MOQ number alone does not tell the full story. A supplier may say 50 pieces is acceptable for an existing design. But once the buyer asks for custom plating, logo tags, pouches, boxes, or a small change in design, each part may have its own minimum quantity or setup cost. So the real question is not only: “What is your MOQ?” It should also be: “What is the minimum for each part of the order?” For example: product quantity plating color logo tag packaging sample revisions shipping and inspection For an early-stage jewelry brand, a good sourcing plan is often not about finding the lowest MOQ. It is about knowing what to customize now, what to keep standard, and what to improve after the product has proven demand. This can protect cash flow and reduce unnecessary first-order risk.
